PE Stars of the Week
Posted on: 05/05/2020Exercise is important to incorporate into your weekly routine, not only for its physical benefits of keeping you fit and healthy but it also helps to contribute to a positive mental health and well being. Physical activity of any kind releases Serotonin which is the 'feel good' hormone discovered in 1935 by Vittorio Erspamer. Serotonin is released during exercise to make you feel happier and more positive so give exercise a try, even if it is for 10 minutes a day and see how good it makes you feel.
This weeks PE star students are Harry for creating a chalk obstacle course for his community to encourage them to stay active. Harry also produced a YouTube video of his obstacle course to help spread the word. Check out his video here
Well done to Aaminah and Yasmin in Year 9 for their great PE write ups and using their free time to get fitter and healthier. Have a look at their work to give you ideas on different ways to set up your exercise routine. Aaminah has focused on weight training and and splitting her week up with a different body part each day and Yasmin has ensured she incorporates a warm up and a cool down with her exercise to reduce injuries and to prepare her body for the activity that is coming.
Great work from James who has been keeping very active using his indoor cardio equipment along side his PE set workouts and has been enjoying his time outside playing badminton.
