Year 10 and 11 Engineering Talk
Posted on: 22/03/2022Last Friday, a group of Y10 and 11 pupils interested in pursuing a career in engineering attended a virtual talk in this field. The speaker, Trevor Gill, a Cambridge graduate and former Chief Scientist in Vodafone, has made outstanding contributions to the development of radio technology.
The talk explained that ‘engineers change the world’ and that engineering is a creative career that covers a broad range of activities and is in everything around us. It focused on his career in mobile phones - a technology that has changed the world.
Students shouldn’t have to wait until undergraduate to start exploring engineering as a career path. This talk was a wonderful way to connect them to the world beyond the classroom.
