Junior Maths Challenge

Posted on: 17/07/2023

After the Junior Maths Challenge in April, top achievers were invited to take part in the two follow-on rounds: The Junior Mathematical Olympiad and The Junior Kangaroo.

The Olympiad is a two-hour Challenge consisting of 16 challenging problems where, unlike the other challenges, written answers need to be given. Only 1,200 students qualify to take part in the Junior Mathematical Olympiad each year. Well done to Piotr W for qualifying and for also achieving a Merit! Amazing!

The Junior Kangaroo is similar in style to the JMC paper, but more challenging. We had several students qualify for this round. Well done to the following students who achieved a Certificate of Qualification: Jeongha L, Jacob P, Ian Cai, Arber T, Theodoros T, Reema V, Myles D, Aaron H and Eric J. We had two students who achieved a Merit – Oliver S, Nanaka G Well done to you both! A huge congratulations to Nanaka G for achieving ‘Best in School’ second year in a row!!!
