Posted on: 07/07/2022Young forensic scientists are near the end of solving the crime investigation they have been working on over the last few weeks. Students have conducted flame test, which is a test for chemicals. It is used to investigate the presence of certain metals in a chemical compound. The compound is heated in a flame and the colour with which the compound burns will depend on which metal is present in the compound. Since students found suspicious chemicals on suspects belongings and performed flame tests to check whether any of those chemicals contains potassium a metal which is found in gunpowder!
