A Level and BTEC students celebrate success with 2026 results!

A LEVEL AND BTEC SUCCESS OPENS DOORS FOR STUDENTS AT THE COMPTON SCHOOL 

Students at The Compton School, part of Middlesex Learning Trust, are looking ahead to the future after achieving a strong set of A Level and BTEC results and securing places at universities, apprenticeships and employment opportunities across the country. 

Students from this year’s cohort are celebrating a remarkable range of post-18 destinations, with places secured at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities, including the University of Oxford, Newcastle University, Durham University, the University of Birmingham, King’s College London and the University of Leeds. Alongside these university successes, a substantial number of students have also secured coveted Degree Apprenticeships with leading employers, demonstrating the diverse pathways through which our students continue to thrive and excel. 

Overall, 79% of grades were awarded at A*-C, with a fifth of all the grades being A*-A. The academy also recorded particularly strong outcomes in Maths, Sciences, Humanities, Philosophy, Art, Spanish and Sociology. We are very proud of our BTEC Sport students achieving 100% achieving Distinction*/Distinction and BTEC Business Studies students achieving 88% Distinction*/Distinction. 

These results reflect the hard work and determination shown by students throughout their studies, alongside the support of staff, families and the wider school community. 

John Flanagan, Assistant Headteacher, had the privilege of talking to some of the top achieving students on the day. 

A Level Results Day 2026 felt optimistic and positive with students eagerly (and nervously) opening their white envelopes; there were lots of smiles when students saw that their hard work had paid off and an atmosphere of relief and excitement filled the concourse.

Collecting their A Level results today, Saffron, said: 

“I’m so happy I'm going to be going to Oxford University; it’s overwhelming but cool. I want to say a big thank you to all of my teachers for their support.” 

How do you feel today? 

Saffron: “Honestly, I'm so relieved and happy! It’s been a long summer wait! I knew I had tried my best so whatever happened I knew I would be happy.” 

Atif: “I’m really, really happy to have secured my place at Birmingham University studying Chemistry” 

What advice would you give to students in Year 11/12 about getting through the A Level years? 

Saffron: “Make sure you treat every end of topic exam seriously, as it’s a way to truly know how secure your knowledge is in that subject” 

What is the best thing about The Compton Sixth Form? 

Atif: “I really valued the support from teachers, they really care and want you to succeed”

How do you feel today? 

“I just can’t believe it; I'm so happy that I focused and worked hard to reach my goal.” 

What is the best thing about The Compton Sixth Form? 

“Being at the Compton School is like being part of one big family: teachers and staff do everything they can to support you.” 

What are your future plans? 

“I’m going to take a gap year to focus on some business plans and ideas, then I'll hopefully go to university or complete a degree apprenticeship”
