Music Trip

On Tuesday 2nd May a group of Y10 & Y9 musicians experienced a rehearsal of Handel Opera Semele performed by the Monteverdi Choir, conducted by the eminent conductor John Elliott Gardiner. The performance was held at the newly refurbished Alexandra Palace Theatre.  This theatre is the oldest London Theatre, dating back to 1872.  Last year it was part of a £19m refurbishment and is now a performance space.  Our students will be taking part in an Opera Project with a team of Opera Singers and Composers from Handel House where they will create their own Mini Opera.  This is an amazing opportunity.
