We hope everyone had a Happy Christmas and New Year and the lucky people that received their glowing Christmas cards and chromatography snowflakes from our future scientists. Students used a copper tape to transport electricity around their cards to activate their LEDs which enabled students to understand how circuits function!

After designing and creating their chromotography snowflakes, students have concluded that when dark coloured pens are made, they are a mix of different lighter colours. When you spread water on the pen’s ink, the lighter colours move further away from the darkest ones, revealing themselves on the filter paper.

We cannot wait to get back to experimenting and seeing what the students come up with next.
