Exploring Outdoor Learning: Year 7's Memorable Trip to Kew Gardens

Posted on: 22/06/2023

Last Wednesday, our enthusiastic Year 7 students embarked on a journey to Kew Gardens, immersing themselves in the wonders of nature and indulging in a day of exploration and discovery.

The meticulously maintained gardens served as a living classroom, brimming with an impressive array of plants, flowers and trees from all around the world. With each step, our students were transported to different continents, encountering diverse ecosystems and learning about the extraordinary adaptations that plants have developed to survive in their environment.

One of the highlights of the trip was the TreeTop Walkway which offered our young scientists an unparalleled opportunity to view the botanical world from a different vantage point. Students had the opportunity to observe the complex ecosystem of the trees' uppermost branches, a world teeming with birds and insects. As they ventured further along the walkway the students encountered informative signposts, providing them with fascinating insights into the ecological importance of the forest canopy.

Kew Gardens provided a refreshing break from the classroom routine allowing students to bond with their peers in a natural setting. They enjoyed picnicking amidst pic. A huge well done to our students for exhibiting exemplary behaviour and enthusiasm during public transport and at Kew Gardens.
